Mary Pauline Letcher, age 73, of Three Rivers, formerly of Mendon and Cassopolis, died on August 20, 2009 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Three Rivers. She was born March 3, 1936, in Bertrand Twp., Berrien Co., MI, the daughter of the late Paul and Thelma (Bliss) Letcher.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Melissa Toney of Kalamazoo; a brother, Ken (Sue) Letcher of Three Rivers; five sisters, Joanne (Richard) Easton of Idlewilde, MI, Nancy (Hermann) Heib of Greenwood, IN, Lois Caba of Sturgis, Patricia (Clarence) Hunsberger of Jones, and Victoria (Joseph) Hackenberg of Three Rivers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a great animal lover. She had a big heart and was always giving to the less fortunate.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 28, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Officiating will be Pastor Ward Pierce of the West Mendon United Methodist Church. Interment will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to any humane society. The Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis, is handling the arrangements.
