A Cass County teenager died last week after the dirt bike he was driving was hit by a truck in Jefferson Township.
Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department were called shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday to an area near Mullen Road and Hospital Street in response to a two-vehicle crash.
Investigators said a 15-year-old was driving the dirt bike south on Mullen Road and failed to yield the right of way to traffic on Hospital Street. The dirt bike was struck by a vehicle heading east on Hospital Street.
The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
