Three Rivers City Commission took action recently to acquire a trio of properties that had been declared tax-delinquent.
During their July 15 meeting, commissioners OK’d purchasing the parcels in advance of the annual St. Joseph County tax sale.
The purchases are all vacant lots. They are located at 509 Spring St., 819 Fifth St. and 418 S. Main St.
A stipulation prior to the transaction called for the purchase price to not exceed $15,000 in total. For now, the collective amount owed in delinquent taxes is close to $13,000.
City manager Joe Bippus said the city plans to eventually sell the parcels to qualified buyers with the potential of erecting a residential unit.

I know for a fact that 509 Spring St isn’t vacant, not yet it isn’t.
