A Sturgis man was arrested earlier this week after barricading himself in his residence.
Sturgis Department of Public Safety officials said officers were dispatched around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of West Jerolene Street in response to an alleged domestic assault.
Officers were joined by deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department in responding to what was later described a barricaded gunman.
The suspect, however, fled the residence before authorities established a perimeter around the home. He was eventually arrested in the 200 block of West Main Street.
He faces a number of felony charges, officers said.
