Jennifer Bauman-Dunks, 52

Jennifer Olean Bauman-Dunks, age 52, of Burr Oak, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.

Jenny was born on September 2, 1972 in Sturgis, the daughter of Gale and Daisy (Reaper) Bauman. Aside from 10 years spent living in Union City, Jenny was a lifelong resident of Burr Oak.

She was employed over the years by Morgan Olson and Sturgis Molded Products in Sturgis, as well as the Subway located in the Shell station in Colon. Outside of work, Jenny enjoyed shopping, attending concerts, visiting casinos, and collecting elephants and unicorns. She was a longtime NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed following Jeff Gordon. Her love for animals was well known, often taking in and caring for animals in need.

Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandsons.

Surviving are her son, Jared Foster of Burr Oak; daughter, Sierra Gilbert of Colon; grandsons, Jaxton Davis and Jude Foster; her mother and stepfather, Daisy and James Priest of Sturgis; brothers, Chris Bauman of Burr Oak and James (Kerrie) Priest of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents, Hiram and Olean Reaper and Wendell and Betty Priest.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Jennifer’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Sturgis at a later date, to be announced. Pastor Doug Noonkester will officiate. Burial of her remains will follow at Burr Oak Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis.

I’ll miss our talks about life and our kids girl, you fought with the heart of a warrior and I know Heaven is shining much brighter with you there.
