Seven potential projects in St. Joseph County are included in Michigan Department of Transportation’s recently released draft of its five-year transportation program.
Five of those seven proposed projects focus on bridges. If MDOT proceeds with its proposals, an overlay would be added to bridges on M-60 and M-66 over Nottawa Creek, M-60 and U.S. 131 Business Route over the Rocky River, and M-60 and U.S. 131 Business Route over the Rocky River chase.
The fourth proposed bridge project would include replacement of the M-60 span over the Portage River. Meanwhile, the final potential project involves sealing on the South Main Street bridge over the St. Joseph River in Three Rivers.
The other two proposed projects involve reconstruction of nearly four miles, collectively, of M-60, M-86 and U.S. 131 Business Route in Three Rivers, and reconstruction of three-quarters of a mile of M-66 from U.S. 12 to Lafayette Street in Sturgis.
