St. Joseph County Road Commission has announced Langley Covered Bridge has re-opened.
The county icon was closed more than a week after a height limiter at the north end of the bridge was knocked off its foundation Aug. 4. The height limiter was struck by a 10-foot-tall motorhome heading south. The vehicle’s sleeper section was peeled from the rest of the motorhome as a result.
Crews spent a fair amount of time Monday working on the height limiter, re-shaping it into place, painting it and mounting it back in place.
The bridge re-opened late Monday.
