Glen Oaks Community College has named Matthew Graham as its new director of housing operations, where he will lead all aspects of campus housing, including staff supervision, budgeting, student development programming and residence life services.
Graham brings nearly two decades of experience in student housing and campus life to his new role. His appointment supports the college’s commitment to providing a safe, welcoming, and student-centered living environment.
“Matthew is a seasoned housing professional with a strong background in building vibrant residential communities,” said Tonya Howden, Vice President of Student Services. “His focus on student engagement, operational excellence, and inclusive leadership will be a great fit for our campus.”
In his new role, Graham is responsible for overseeing day-to-day housing operations, managing budgets, recruiting and supervising housing staff, and coordinating student programming within the residence halls. He will also work closely with departments across campus to enhance the overall student experience.
Prior to joining Glen Oaks, Graham served in residence life leadership roles at institutions including Savannah College of Art and Design, Texas A&M University–Galveston, and Eastern Illinois University. He also held student services positions abroad at the American University of Afghanistan and the American University of Iraq-Baghdad. Throughout his career, his responsibilities have included managing residence halls, supervising staff, implementing housing policies, and overseeing student conduct processes.
“I’m excited to be part of a college that invests in student support and offers a strong sense of community,” said Graham. “Campus housing plays a key role in student success, and I look forward to helping students feel connected, supported, and at home at Glen Oaks.”
Graham holds a master’s degree in college student personnel services and administration from the University of Central Arkansas and a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston.
Glen Oaks offers on-campus housing as part of its commitment to student access and engagement. Graham’s leadership will help strengthen residential life and foster a positive, student-focused culture in the college’s living-learning community.
