Man injured in moped crash

A Cass County man was hospitalized after crashing the moped he was driving last weekend in Mason Township.

Cass County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday to an area along Tharp Lake Road near State Line Road.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a 19-year-old man lying on the road and suffering from head injuries.

Details about how the incident occurred are still under investigation.

The man was treated at Elkhart General Hospital.
