Cass County begins search for new county manager

Cass County is looking for a new county manager after county commission members recently voted to let go of Patrick Jordan.

County officials said the decision to dismiss Jordan as county manager centered on an investigation related to allegations of derogatory comments made in the workplace.

Jordan was placed on paid administrative leave a month ago after commissioners were made aware that Jordan had allegedly made discriminatory comments about two minority groups.

Board chairman Jeremiah Jones said a follow-up investigation confirmed that Jordan’s conduct violated ethical standards set for county employees.

Jordan took over the county’s top, non-elected position in mid-June.

Cass County Finance Director Jennifer Rentfrow will serve as interim administrator until a replacement is hired.
