Miguel P. Garcia, age 90, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025 at Optalis Health and Rehabilitation of Three Rivers.
Miguel was born on April 15, 1935 in Laredo, Texas, the son of Merced and Alicia Garcia. He spent his early years in Laredo before relocating to Harlingen, Texas, where he lived for over 30 years. Eventually, he settled in Three Rivers, which he proudly called home for the last 50 years.
Miguel was known for his sharp sense of humor and unforgettable laugh—much like Curly from The Three Stooges. He was active and strong throughout his life, with a deep love for landscaping. A devoted son, he would take his mother on an annual trip back to Texas—one of many ways he showed his love for family.
Independence defined Miguel. He loved walking, traveling spontaneously, and was always on the go—you might find him in Sturgis or up in Lansing, just because he felt like it. He enjoyed boxing, Western films, hot air balloon shows, and browsing flea markets. Most of all, he deeply loved his family and especially cherished his many nieces and nephews.
Miguel is survived by his brothers: Robert (Irma) Garcia of Kalamazoo, and Roy (Emilia) Garcia of Lansing; brothers-in-law: Dave Voros and Julio Trevino; sister-in-law: Concha Garcia; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Olga Trevino, Lydia Voros, Graciela (Felix) Torres, Janie (Orlando) Martinez, Art Garcia, and John (Kim) Garcia.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Moorepark Cemetery, 16960 Moorepark Road, Three Rivers, MI 49093.
Arrangements entrusted to Ray Funeral Services, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers, MI 49093, 269-278-1515.
