Police investigate break-in

Michigan State Police troopers are investigating a breaking-and-entering incident that occurred this week in Sherman Township. Troopers were called shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday to a residence in the 27000 block of Orchard Drive. Investigators said the suspect broke into the residence and but scared off by the homeowner before anything was taken.

St. Joseph County Clerk Lindsay Oswald announced Wednesday that a White Pigeon man’s effort to recall village president Tyler Royce fell short. Michigan reported fewer coronavirus cases in the week ending Aug. 14, adding more than 16,000 new cases. Health department offering COVID-19 vaccine

Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency is offering Novavax COVID-19 vaccines. Novavax is approved for those age 18 and over.
