Man charged in Sturgis shooting

A 35-year-old Sturgis man has been charged with first-degree homicide stemming from a fatal shooting last week in Sturgis. An arraignment took place Friday in St. Joseph County Court for Erik Davis, a suspect in the shooting. His bond was set at $750,000. County unemployment down

August’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County was 1.1 percent lower than the figure from the previous month.
