White Pigeon Schools purchases vans

White Pigeon Community Schools Board of Education recently approved the purchase of two, 10-passenger vans at a cost of $30,000 each. Superintendent Jon Keyer said the vans would prove convenient when the district has to transport teams with low numbers – quiz bowl and math meet, for example – thus not requiring use of a 66-passenger bus.

A 33-year-old White Pigeon man was arrested recently after a pursuit originating in White Pigeon. Christopher Lee Wooster faces charges of resisting a police officer, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Serious injuries in Colon Township crash

A Mendon man was seriously injured when his pickup crashed in a field on M-66 Wednesday evening in Colon Township. County sheriff’s deputies said 22-year-old Steven Wickey was driving the vehicle during farming operations when it overturned. Wickey was ejected, and sustained serious injuries. Investigating officers said speed and the lack of seat belt use were factors in the incident.
