One dead after shooting in Howard Township

The Cass County sheriff’s department is investigating a deadly shooting from early Sunday morning. The incident happened in the 2900 block of Yankee Street in Howard Township around 2 a.m. Sunday. The victim was 18-year-old Dayman Chatman, of South Bend, Ind. Authorities said Chatman was shot and died from his injuries while attending a large gathering located at the residence. …

Trailer stolen in White Pigeon

State police troopers are investigating the theft of a trailer from a business in White Pigeon Township. According to a department media release, troopers were called to the 18000 block of U.S. 12, where they learned the trailer, which has black frames, was taken between July 12 and 15.
