Sheriff advised that man was found

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was advised Thursday by the White Pigeon Police Department that Charles Rusher was found in the St. Joseph County community. White Pigeon Police advised that Rusher had broken into a residence during the nighttime hours and fell asleep on a couch. The homeowner discovered Rusher around 8:30 a.m. and notified authorities. Here’s a reminder that the Secretary of State office in Sturgis is closed this week for remodeling. The office will remain unavailable through Aug. 1. Embezzlement charges issued

A warrant was issued Wednesday for the former executive assistant of the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce. The action comes a day after the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a charge of embezzlement against Deb Herring, 57, of Schoolcraft. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department has identified the suspect in a stabbing incident earlier this week. Charles Ray Eubanks, 32, of Cassopolis, was arrested following the early-morning incident July 20 in Vandalia.
