The city of Sturgis will move its municipal elections to even-numbered years, following a unanimous vote taken this week by community leaders. Fishing equipment and a television were among the items taken from three residences in Sherman Township. The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department was called Sunday to the 67000 block of Stubey Road in response to breaking-and-entering incident. Four college students were charged with drug-related offenses following a traffic stop Monday night in Constantine Township. According to Michigan State Police, the vehicle was stopped around 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 131 near North River Road for speeding. A preliminary examination for a Burr Oak woman charged with murder is set for 9 a. m. April 25 in St. Joseph County District Court.
