Authorities in rural western Michigan say an arson fire has destroyed a historic covered wooden bridge that has spanned the Flat River since the 19th century. Proposal to meet once a month

Agreement to purchase land

Nearly 60 landowners between Sturgis and Coldwater have agreed to purchase about 16 miles of land to prevent it from becoming a rails-to-trails recreation path. Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson said the deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 6 primary election is Monday. Accepting grant applications

Officials from the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation announced the agency is accepting grant applications through the end of the month. Eligible applicants include schools, government entities, and other 501(c)3 organizations within the City of Three Rivers and surrounding townships.  Final grant awards will require 25 percent matching funds. Project to be completed by end of month

White Pigeon Township officials are expecting a major infrastructure project to be completed by the end of the month.
