“Operation Verify,” a three-week campaign recently conducted by the Michigan State Police and local agencies, confirmed 89 percent of the county’s sex offenders are in compliance with proper registration of their residence. 125 people were left homeless early Monday morning following a fire overnight at a Kalamazoo apartment building. The blaze broke out just before 11:30 Sunday night at the seven-story Northwind Hilltop Apartments.
