Leader of Kalamazoo schools chosen as state superintendent

Partial road closures in Cass and Van Buren counties

Serious injuries in Colon Township crash

A Mendon man was seriously injured when his pickup crashed in a field on M-66 Wednesday evening in Colon Township. County sheriff’s deputies said 22-year-old Steven Wickey was driving the vehicle during farming operations when it overturned. Wickey was ejected, and sustained serious injuries. Investigating officers said speed and the lack of seat belt use were factors in the incident.

A Centreville man died last week following an accident on the Indiana Toll Road in LaPorte County. Investigators with Indiana State Police said Mahlon Tucker, 77, died after the semi he was driving was involved in a two-vehicle accident at 2 a.m. Friday.
