Obituaries

Fred Martin, age 79, of Mendon, died Thursday, Jan. 15. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon where services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Ronald Miazga, 68, died on Thursday, January 15. He taught english for many years at Glen Oaks Community College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Memorial services will take place Friday, February 6, at 1:00 PM at the Dale Lake Auditorium at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Betty J. Wells, age 75 of Kalamazoo, died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 16. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon. Arrangements were by the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon.

Wilfred M. “Bill” Wing, age 91, of Englewood, Fla., and formerly of Colon, died Thursday, Jan. 15.  The family will receive relatives and friends from noon-1  p.m. on Tuesday at the Schipper Funeral Home Ltd. in Colon.  Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m.

Robert W. Grossman, age 80, of Burr Oak, died Thursday, Jan. 15.  According to his wishes, there will be no visitation or services as cremation has taken place.  Arrangements by the Hackman Family Funeral Homes, Rosenberg Chapel.

Esther Ann Doe, age 90 of Sturgis, died Thursday morning, January 15.  The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00P.M. Sunday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, in Sturgis, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Sunday.  The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 Monday at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.

ONALEE M. HOPKINS, age 91, of White Pigeon died Wednesday evening, January 14.  A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, Sturgis is handling the arrangements.

James Henry “Hank” Wooster, age 73, of Branch, Mich., and formerly of Sturgis, died Jan. 12.  The funeral was held at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Ludington.

Marion Pueschel, 84, of Sturgis, died Wednesday, Jan. 14.  Arrangements will be announced by the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville.

John “Jack” Hawley, 80, of Dixon, IL, formerly of Three Rivers, died Wednesday, Jan. 7.  The funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 17, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home in Wheaton, IL.
