John Takacs, age 102, of Mendon, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Tendercare, Portage. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday,  Jan. 3, 2009, at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.

Carol Ann Lapham, age 65 of Burr Oak, Michigan passed away Sunday  December 28, 2008. A private memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at  Oak Lawn cemetery in Sturgis at a later date.

VIOLA A. MELCHI, age 98, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Sunday morning  December 28, 2008. A memorial service celebrating will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis. A graveside  committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
