A Schoolcraft woman charged with embezzling from the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce waived her preliminary examination this week. Deb Herring, who was relieved of her job as administrative assistant at the chamber earlier this year, declined a preliminary examination Tuesday. Plane crash in Three Rivers

The pilot of a single-engine, ultra-light plane escaped serious injury Wednesday evening when the plane crashed into a wooded area near Hov Aire Drive in Three Rivers. The pilot, 71-year-old Peter Wilkins of Kalamazoo, was attempting to land at Three Rivers Airport when he reported he lost lift and crashed.
