The wife of as Three Rivers minister was sentenced to one year of probation stemming from a Dec. 26 at their Flowerfield Township residence. Connie Tolbert, 55, pled guilty last week to one count of discharge of a firearm without malice. She was sentenced by District Court Judge William Welty. Strong arm robbery

County sheriff’s deputies investigated the robbery of a Pizza Hut delivery person late Tuesday night. The incident occurred in the area of Wilbur and Null Roads in Lockport Township. The suspect vehicle was stopped a short time later on North Main Street in Three Rivers. Four suspects were taken into custody.

Crash Claims Life

A two-vehicle crash late Monday afternoon in Florence Township resulted in the death of a Three Rivers man. Peter McDonough, age 62, died in the crash.  He was driving north on Constantine Road when his Jeep collided with a southbound semi truck between Fairchild and Withers roads. Unemployment Increased

For the first time since the middle of 2011, St. Joseph County’s monthly unemployment rate saw an increase from the previous month. The county’s December unemployment rate was 9.2 percent, a nine-tenths of a percent increase from November’s 8.3 percent.
