County may return to seven-member board

Barring any major modifications, it appears St. Joseph County is going back to being run by a seven-member board. The Apportionment Commission charged with reviewing the county’s 2020 U.S. Census figures and adjusting county representation proportionately has come up with a seven-district proposal, as it was for decades prior to 2010. Constitution Day draws smaller than expected crowd

Friday’s gathering for what was being billed as a “Constitution Day Celebration” drew fewer people than expected to downtown Centreville. Two people were injured in a head-on crash this week in Cass County’s LaGrange Township. Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday to an area of M-62 near Kingsbury Street. Sheriff’s deputies are on the lookout for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident earlier this week in Lockport Township.
