Cass County crash sends 2 to hospital

Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash over the weekend in Cass County’s Wayne Township. Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called around 10 p.m. Saturday to Dutch Settlement Road, near Nubour Road. Man arrested for assaulting officer

A 23-year-old Sturgis man was arrested following an incident shortly after 5 a.m. Friday in the 1700 block of South Centerville Road. Officers were dispatched to a report of a disorderly person and when they arrived, police found the man to become increasingly combative and he struck an officer during the investigation. He was charged with assaulting an officer.

K-Wings winless over holiday weekend

The Kalamazoo Wings (4-10-0-1) came up winless in three games over the holiday weekend and now find themselves mired in a six-game losing streak. Three murder suspects in jail

Three people charged in the murder of a truck driver last week remain in the St. Joseph County Jail. They were arrested Friday by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
