Three Rivers Police Department K9 Jake helped locate a discarded electronic tether that was damaged and taken off a suspect. The TRPD said Jake helped locate the device on Strobel Road, near Cenreville-Constantine Road on Tuesday afternoon. It took Jake approximately 15 minutes to find the device. Police arrest man with help from K9 Jake

A 36-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested for retail fraud and possession of methamphetamine on Tuesday. Police said they were sent to Walmart for a theft in progress at approximately 2:30 p.m. K9 Jake was brought in as the subject fled the store on foot. Contract extended for Centreville superintendent

Stephanie Lemmer, the Superintendent at Centreville Public Schools, received a one-year contract extension at Monday’s board of education meeting. The board rated Lemmer as “effective.” Lemmer, beginning her second year in the district, received a two percent increase on her $107,000 base salary, a $2,000 annuity, and for her “effective” rating, a $1,000 bonus. A 57-year-old Three Rivers man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday in Charleston Township in southeastern Kalamazoo County.
