Ronald Eugene Spiegelberg, age 88, of Vicksburg, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lima Twp., Washtenaw Co. on March 26, 1920 the son of Ervin and Edith (Feldkamp) Spielgelberg.
Mr. Spiegelberg has been a resident of the Vicksburg area since 1972, moving from the Manchester and Ann Arbor Area. He has been a Dairy Farmer since 1951 owning and operating his own farms which include R.V.D. and K.W.G. Farms. He has been a long time member of M.A.B.C. (Michigan Artificial Breeder’s Co-op) and M.M.P.A. (Michigan Milk Producer’s Association) as well as a 4-H Leader.
Mr. Spiegelberg had two great passions in his life, his family, children and grandchildren and farming. He loved to spend his winters putting puzzles together and enjoyed attending church at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Three Rivers where he was an elder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and daughter-in-law, Gary (Stacey) Spiegelberg, one brother, and two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Dorothy (Ruhlig) Spiegelberg, of Vicksburg, MI. whom he married on June 17, 1950 in Ann Arbor, MI.; one daughter, Loraine (Vern) Lewis, of Vicksburg, MI.; four sons, Wayne (Deborah), Darold, and Dwight (Leeann) Spiegelberg, all of Vicksburg, MI., and Kevin (Jill) Spiegelberg, of Plainwell, MI.; eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Alan Stadelman officiating.
