Vernett E. Palmer, age 95, of Three Rivers, Mich., passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Riverview Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 25, 1914, in Sturgis, a daughter of Merton and Edith (Laughlin) Miller.
Mrs. Palmer has been a lifelong resident of this area. She retired from Weyerhauser Corp., formerly Eddy Paper, in 1955. She was a member of the Three Rivers Eagles Auxiliary #2303, American Legion Hice Shutes #170 Auxiliary, the Grandmothers Club, and D.A.V. Auxiliary.
On Dec. 31, 1936, she married Nolan “Pete” Palmer, who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory a step-son, Donald Palmer, of California; a niece, Nancy Sult, of Three Rivers; a great-niece and nephew, Jennifer and Timothy Sult; and a sister, Marie Mayer.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside Cemetery.
