Robert C. Johnson, age 82, formerly of Sturgis, died Dec. 24, 2009, following an illness.
He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army Medical Corp., and retired from Penn Central Railroad following 40 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty M. (Decker) Johnson; a son, Robert (Gail) of Spring Grove, Ill.; a daughter, Catherine (Michael) McKee of Whitefish Bay, Wisc.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna Farrell and Dorothy Moore, both of Niles.
Services are at 11 a.m. today at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Niles.
Contributions can be made to the church or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by the Halbritter Funeral Home of Niles.
