Rosa Hurley, 80

Rosa Alice Hurley, age 80, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Sturgis Hospital.

She was born June 2, 1930, in Pickaway County, Ohio, a daughter of Guy and Rosa Wyatt.

Rosa had lived at Froh Manner Apartments for 17 years.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with family and friends, crafts, ceramics, playing bingo and Yahtzee and collecting dolls from around the world.

She had seven children, Jim (Diana) Hurley of Mosherville, Jean Hurley of Mosherville, Ron Hurley of Florida, Shirley (Jerry) Lipscomb of Nottawa, Don (Dawn) Hurley of Quincy, Tom Hurley of Ohio and Chuck (Sally) Hurley of Ispheming; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Leona Moden of LaGrange, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jean Hurley; a son, Tom Hurley; a grandson, Mark Lipscomb; two brothers; and two sisters.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5-7 p.m.Sunday at the Hackman Family Funeral Home Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Rosa Alice Hurley will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ, 901 N. Lakeview Ave., Sturgis, with the Rev. George Cleverly officiating.

Interment with graveside services will take place at 3 p.m. Monday at the Mosherville Cemetery in Mosherville. Memorial donations may be directed to the Hackman Family Funeral Homes to help with expenses.
