CTA Gets New Van

The St. Joseph County Transportation Authority has unveiled the newest addition to its fleet.

The Three Rivers-based agency on Tuesday took delivery of a 2011 Dodge Caravan. The new vehicle seats six but is being showcased by CTA Executive Director Steve Yorks for its vehicle-wrap exterior featuring a large-scale road map of St. Joseph County.

Yorks said the design, which covers both sides, and the front and rear of the $33,000 van, has the effect of a billboard on wheels. He said the vehicle-wrap is a notable addition that he and CTA board members agree catches the attention of passers by.

Once fitted with a two-way radio system, the van is expected to hit the roads next week, Yorks said.
