Inez Ultz, 84

Inez M. Ultz, age 84, of Burr Oak, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis. She is now celebrating a full life with her Savior Jesus Christ.

Inez was born June 3, 1928, in Sturgis, a daughter to the late William and Emma (Wittenberg) Studeman.

Inez had lived most all of her life in Burr Oak, graduating from Sturgis High School with the Class of 1945.

On April 25, 1948, she married Richard D. Ultz in Sturgis. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1998.

Inez was a homemaker and had worked with her husband on the family farm. She was a loving mother who enjoyed gardening and celebrating holiday’s with her family. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Colon, and formerly a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Burr Oak, where she had been active with the Aid Association for Lutherans, the LWML and also had been a Vacation Bible School teacher. She was a volunteer at Fairview Medical Center in Centreville and a former member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association.

She is survived by five children, Richard Ultz of Burr Oak, Jean (Rusty) Kyle of Sturgis, Mary (Scott) Himes of Sturgis, Connie Cordova of Lakewood, Colo. and Jeff (Becky) Ultz of Burr Oak; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Studeman; sister, Elsie Weaver; daughter-in-law, Linda Ultz; and great-grandson, Lawerence Ultz

The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Inez M. Ultz will be Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Colon with Pastor David Grimm officiating. A graveside committal service and burial will follow at Burr Oak Cemetery.

If desired the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Inez to the Colon St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
