Michigan couple killed in crash

A coroner says the three people killed in a massive pileup on I-94 in northwestern Indiana are a Michigan couple and a man from Chicago. LaPorte County coroner John Sullivan says the son of the Grand Rapids couple told him they were returning home from taking care of a relative in Wisconsin when they were caught up in Thursday’s crash. He says the victims are 67-year-old Thomas Wolma and 65-year-old Marilyn Wolma of Grand Rapids. Also killed was 65-year-old Jerry Dalrymple of Chicago. Sullivan says Dalrymple’s dog also was killed inside his car. State police say more than 20 other people were hurt in the pileup involving more than 40 vehicles during heavy lake-effect snowfall.  (AP)
