Students at Centreville, Constantine and Three Rivers high schools were treated to a special appearance Wednesday during assemblies at their respective schools.
Daniel Booko, a 2002 Three Rivers High School graduate, was accompanied during visits to the schools by his fiancée, Nia Sanchez, Miss USA 2014.
The 30-year-old Booko and 24-year-old Sanchez during their visits discussed their days as junior high and high school students, and offered encouraging words to students to pursue and be committed to their dreams.
Sanchez, who won the crown in June in a pageant that featured White Pigeon native Mekayla Diehl as Miss Indiana, was Miss Nevada. She and Booko met 18 months ago at a Los Angeles church and became engaged earlier this month.
They capped off their day Wednesday with a youth program at Riverside Church in Three Rivers, where Booko’s father, Paul, is the head pastor.
