TRHS golf news

Both the Wildcats Varsity and JV golf teams were in action at South Haven on Wednesday.

On the JV side the Cats took home top honors in the six team field at the Beeches Golf Club. The final totals were as follows:

Three Rivers 207

Edwardsburg 213

Vicksburg 221

South Haven 222

Dowagiac 225

Paw Paw 242

Calvin Trammell was the overall medalist with a score of 49. also competing for Three Rivers were Hunter Stewart 50, Nick Katsaros 51, JD Conroy 57, Jensin Blyly 57,Austin McKee 58 and Luke Hoxie 63.

A big thank you to Kevin Ott and Tom Wheat for their help coaching and transporting the JV players.

Next up for the JV squad will be May 6th at Milham Park Golf Course vs. Loy Norrix.

Over at Hawkshead Golf Links, the varsity squad continued their improved play with a 5th place finish at the South Have jamboree. The totals were as follows:

Casey Syrek of Otsego was low with an even par 36.

The Wildcats were lead by Daniel Grace 42 (T7), along with Correy Godden 45, Weston Geans 46, Parker Jackson 46 and Jacob Turner 51.

Next on the agenda for the varsity is the Tom Collins Invitational at Bedford Valley Golf Club on Thursday April 28.

“I’m very happy with the progress of the team.” says Coach Bales “We have played 9 different players at the varsity level, including 2 freshmen, and the competition has forced players to improve or risk losing playing time.” By the look of the JV scores we might have additional competition on the way.” adds Bales.
