Hazel Klaiber, 74

Hazel E. (Schieber) Klaiber, 74, of Porter Township, White Pigeon, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at Elkhart General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born July 15, 1942, in Sturgis, a daughter of Charlie D. and Fannie Marie (Plank) Lunger.
She lived all her life in the White Pigeon area and was a graduate of White Pigeon High School in 1960. She was a member of White Pigeon United Methodist Church, UMW and White Pigeon American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed poetry, baking and camping. She was employed by Amerimax in Bristol, Ind., for 35 years, retiring Dec. 30, 2007.
Surviving are her daughter, Sherri Stiles of Mottville; two sons, Philip (Laurie) Schieber of Goshen, Ind. and Dale (Jodi) Shieber of Bristol, Ind.; adopted son John Arnold of Elkhart, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian Schieber; a brother, Hugh Lunger; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Bennett and Wanda Featherstone.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, and 10-11 a.m. Thursday at White Pigeon United Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Ed McCutchan officiating. Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
