Firefighters from several departments battled an early morning house fire Thursday in Cass County’s Porter Township, just outside Mottville.
The fire was reported just after 5:30 a.m., when the residents were awakened by smoke.
The occupants and their pets were able to flee the home, which was declared a complete loss.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
