Arrests made following Burr Oak crash

Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a pursuit following an incident last weekend in Burr Oak Township.

According to a department media release, the incident originated at 5:30 a.m. on Maystead Road, near Carpenterson Road, where it was reported that a Honda passenger car struck a front-end loader.

Occupants of the Honda passenger car were reported to be leaving the site, but upon arrival at the scene, deputies observed a Chevy Impala drive away eastbound on Maystead Road.

Deputies pursued that vehicle, which then pulled into a driveway, and the driver and a passenger fled the vehicle on foot.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda in the original crash was also in the vehicle and surrendered to deputies. That subject, a 35-year-old man from Sturgis, was treated for serious injuries from the original crash.

The male suspect who fled from the vehicle was located several hours later on Witt Lake Road and arrested for outstanding warrants and resisting/obstructing police.

The driver of the vehicle being pursued has been identified and charges will be requested against that suspect. The driver of the front-end loader was not injured.

Ok so for days we are constantly getting the same articles from the radio and the Sturgis Journal. If these people are arrested POST their names in the paper. Other towns do! Not talking just regarding this article but several. Appreciate what you do! More information from you than the newspapers.

    Thanks
