The Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has issued a media release, in which it endorses an upcoming millage request sought by Glen Oaks Community College.
The chamber stated it believes the college has been fiscally responsible in pursuing the November request of 0.5 mills.
Glen Oaks Community College has listened to local employers, who have consistently stated that there is a dire need in our county for a technical trained workforce, the chamber added. Money from the millage will be used for facility and technology upgrades that will enhance the sustainability of the programs that are needed to help create a better workforce in St. Joseph County, according to the chamber.
