Man arrested after fleeing police

A 43-year-old White Pigeon man was Tased after he led police on a brief pursuit and failed to abide by their commands once he was stopped.

Sheriff’s deputies said they were called at 2:24 a.m. Saturday to the 11000 block of U.S. 12 in Mottville Township in response to a disorderly subject.

The suspect drove through a fence to access the roadway and continued eastbound into the village of White Pigeon. Authorities said his vehicle became disabled after the use of Stop Sticks, which punctured the passenger-side tires of his vehicle.

Deputies said after repeatedly refusing to abide by their verbal commands, he was Tased and subsequently taken into custody.

He was charged with felony fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, and misdemeanor charges of operating while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license and possession of marijuana, according to authorities.
