Woman arrested following police pursuit

A Branch County woman was charged with a number of offenses after she led authorities in two counties on a vehicle pursuit.

Authorities in Branch and St. Joseph Counties said Alexandria Stolte, 19, was arrested Wednesday after Branch County deputies attempted to serve a warrant at a residence on the south side of Coldwater.

Deputies noticed Stolte left the residence in a vehicle, eventually reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour while heading west on U.S. 12, according to authorities. She continued, driving through Bronson and into Sturgis. Following an apparently random route through Sturgis, her vehicle was eventually stopped on Lakeview Avenue at the intersection of South Street.

In addition to numerous traffic offenses, Stolte was charged with use of a financial device from a case involving the theft of a debit card. She was also charged with failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on an unrelated theft charge, and failure to comply with a court-ordered drug test, according to authorities.
