County commission approves 2 resolutions

Gathered for a special meeting Wednesday, St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners approved two resolutions that featured corrected information.

County administrator Teresa Doehring said action on the first resolution replaces a resolution approved earlier this month. She explained the original resolution featured a typo regarding an interest-rate figure.

The corrected figure – 2.8999 percent – was included in a resolution that was passed unanimously.

The issue was related to the county entering into an agreement with ABM Building Solutions. The company is aiding St. Joseph County with an energy-efficiency plan after it conducted an analysis of energy use at county-owned buildings.

Doehring said the improvements will require about $2.3 million worth of new equipment, which the county will lease for 15 years then own after that time.
