Virgil Eirschele, 80

Virgil Joseph Eirschele, age 80, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020. He was born on May 10, 1939 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Reuben and Gertrude (Ray) Eirschele. Virgil spent the majority of his life in Three Rivers and graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1958.

He worked at the Sebo Foundry, Essex Wire, Peterson Springs, and retired after 27 years of service from The Johnson Corporation. In his retirement Virgil also worked for Cole Motor Company of Three Rivers.

Always an avid sports fan, Virgil spent many years involved coaching F.O.P. baseball, Jr. Pro basketball and Rocket Football. He was also a member of the chain gang for TRHS Football for many years. Virgil was a member of TR Elks BPOE #1248 and the Knights of Columbus.

On May 28, 1966 Virgil married Arlene Swiatkowski. Virgil is survived by his wife of 53 years: Arlene; children: Jeff (Liz) Satterlee, Laura (Brad) Withers, Todd (Lyn Patterson) Satterlee, Constance (Paul) Stutesman, Penny (Brian) Miller, and Pat Pike; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; siblings: Theresa (Bob) Dawkins, Gwen Christacopulos, Fran Besko, and Wayne Eirschele.

In accordance with Virgil’s wishes a celebration of his life will be held at Hohner Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2020 with a public visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Tomy officiating. A private interment will be held on a later date.
