Christopher G. Hamminga, age 58, of Constantine, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Sturgis on March 18, 1962, a son of Frank and Aletha (Alber) Hamminga. Christopher attended Constantine High School. On May 17, 1983 he married Miste Cheney.
Christopher was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening and metal detecting. Christopher most loved being a stay-at-home grandpa. He had previously worked in heating and air conditioning, and also metal extrusion.
Surviving Christopher are his mother Aletha Hamminga, White Pigeon; wife Miste Hamminga, Constantine, children Tashanda Hamminga, MT; Zachary (Brittany) Hamminga, Mottville; Shelby (Tim Keiling) Hamminga, Cassopolis; grandchildren Taylor, Tyler, Emmett, Caynnon, Laine, Easton, Colton; brothers Jon (Chris) Hamminga, Jeff (Michelle) Hamminga; and sister Henrietta Kelly. He was preceded in death by his father and brothers Frank Hamminga and Kenneth Hamminga.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no public services. Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Homes in Constantine.
