He joined the Army National Guard in early 1974 and later that year, he married the former Deborah L. Collins on Nov. 23 in Union City. They would have been happily married 46 years this month.
Steve was a jack of all trades, working at various companies, but worked as a truck driver for many years, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a proud member of the Union City American Legion, Post #196. He lived in Union City most of his life and raised his family there.
Fun-loving, kind, and sometimes stubborn are how Steve’s family will remember him. He enjoyed good country music, old western movies, and sitting on his front porch visiting with friends and neighbors. He would go out of his way to help anyone for any reason at any time. He was a great Pa and Papa to his grandchildren and was a Dad to anyone who needed one. He was so proud of all of his children.
