Three Rivers receives equipment to help small businesses through winter

The city of Three Rivers recently received $6,000 to create outdoor weather strategies to help small businesses operate safely and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Tricia Meyer, executive director of Three Rivers Downtown Development Authority, said the items are to offer comfort and service to business patrons in Three Rivers.

All items purchased through the grant have been received, including 10 outdoor heaters, six sets of bistro tables, four hand-sanitizing stations and an outdoor fire pit.

Small Business Association of Michigan collaborated with Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity to administer $3 million in weatherization grants to help small businesses expand service capacity through the winter.
