Rev. Lawrence M. Green, age 85, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 10, 1935 at home in Harlan County, Kentucky a son to the late Oley and Ruth (Frith) Green.
Rev. Green has been a resident of Sturgis since 1989 moving here from Jackson, MI.
On August 22, 1953 in Cincinnati, OH he married Delores York.
He was a member of the Life in Christ Ministries in Battle Creek, a life member of the NRA, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife Delores; 2 sons: Larry (Lee Ann) Green of Saginaw, and Ronald (Crystal) Green of Mt. Morris, MI; 2 daughters: Connie White of White Pigeon, and Laronda (Terry) Groner of Ft. Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Jessica “Tiny” Bushong of Lafayette, in and Ola “Midge” Pinnington of Cincinnati, OH; 2 brothers: Curtis (Kelly) Green of Cincinnati, OH and Ernest “Jay Bird” (Nadine) Green of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Cheryl Markham, grandson: David Ray Green, granddaughter: Andrea Irene Green, 4 brothers: Roy, James A., Robert, and Charlie Lee Green.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M., Wednesday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions of gatherings, the current limitations of no more than 25 people in the funeral home at a time will be followed and face masks are required.
A Graveside service celebrating the life of Rev. Lawrence Green will be held on Wednesday, immediately following the visitation, at 2:30 P.M. in Oak Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Dan Martineau, officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to the Hackman Family Funeral Homes.
