The St. Joseph County Human Resources Commission has released an updated list of “free stores” in the area.
There are five locations in and around St. Joseph County. In Athens, the Pass It Forward Shop is on Factoryville Road, though it is closed for the summer.
Meanwhile, in St. Joseph County, the Centreville Free Store – Building Hope – is located at a new address: 108 W. Main St. Donations and shopping are by appointment only.
A Community Clothes Closet is available in Colon at Trayling & Sons Insurance.
Sturgis does not have a free store at this time but gently used maternity and newborn clothes are available at Sturgis Pregnancy Helpline on North Nottawa Street. It also offers baby food, formula and cereal.
Three Rivers has a Community Closet free store at 901 S. Main St. It is open 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Saturday. Also in Three Rivers, the Stone Cottage Free Store is at 320 N. Main St. In addition, Kings Closet is at Verse By Verse Church at 300 Enterprise Drive.
