Terry Lee Betcke, age 76, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at his home.
He was born July 25, 1944 in Sturgis, son of the late Harry and Margaret (Whyman) Betcke.
Terry was a lifelong Sturgis resident. On August 5, 1967 he married Roberta “Bobby” Smoker in Chicago.
Terry was a talented welder by trade and had been employed by several area trailer factories.
He enjoyed reading and educating himself and he was an animal lover always having cats and dogs.
He is survived by his wife: Bobby; two daughters: Nicole Betcke of Sturgis and Renee Betcke of LaGrange; his grandchildren: Manon, Rylee and Jaden Smith; great grandson: Ren Ashton Smith and expecting his 2nd great grandson any day; one brother: Jerry Betcke of Sturgis and nephews: David Betcke and Mark Betcke.
He was preceded in death by one son: Mitchel Betcke; daughter: Mi Kel “Kelly” Betcke; father: Harry Betcke and mother and step-father: Margaret and Jim Fennell.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
Memorial donations would be appreciated to the Hackman Family Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 9, Sturgis, MI 49091 to help with expenses and who is entrusted with the arrangements.
